Work 3 rounds in K1P1 rib.
Increase Row: *[K1P1] twice,M1; repeat from * to end of row.

Row 1: * K12, P4; repeat from * around.
Row 2: Repeat
Row 3: Repeat
Row 4: *[C3B,K3,C3F,K3] Repeat from * to end of row.
Work cable pattern until hat measures approximately 14 cm.
Decrease row 1: *Work 12 stitches, P1, P2tog, P1; repeat from * (90)
Work even for 3 rounds.
Decrease row 2: *Work 12 stitches, P1, P2tog; repeat from* (84)
Work even for 3 rounds.
Decrease row 3: *Work 12 stitches, P2tog; repeat from* (78)
Switch to double-pointed needles when necessary.
Decrease row 4: *[K2tog] 6 times, P1; repeat from * (42)
Decrease row 5: *[K2tog] 3 times, P1; repeat from * (24)
Decrease row 6: *K2tog, SL1, PSSO; repeat from * (12)
Finish: Draw yarn through remaining stitches and secure.
